Questions about us
We source our coloured gemstones primarily from Sri Lanka through a network of suppliers and gemstone miners. We focus on responsible sourcing.
We source diamonds through vetted, certified and reputed diamond wholesalers.
To do this, with each of our suppliers, we ask questions to understand their background, how long they have been in the trade and how their stones are sourced. We certify all of our valuable coloured gemstones. We pay a fair price to acquire high quality gemstones.
In Sri Lanka, most of the mining of sapphires is done sustainably using low impact, underground mines that provide jobs and livelihood to large rural communities.
Some of our gemstones originate from Africa and Asia, sourced by our vetted suppliers in Sri Lanka.
Not yet.
At this stage, we are an online only business based out of Sydney, Australia. If you are based in Sydney, we are happy to setup in-person appointments. If you are outside of Sydney, we can arrange appointments via Zoom.
No. We do not supply synthetic, lab grown coloured gemstones. In our opinion, they do not offer the beauty, magic, presence and long term value that natural coloured gemstones do.
We do source lab diamonds on demand for our clients.

We recommend that you get in touch with us to confirm whether a ring can be resized before ordering. Please indicate your size in your enquiry (inner diameter size in mm). Our ring size guide provides a guide to standard sizes.
We generally can resize one size up or down.
However, in some instances, we may choose to not resize as this may affect the structural integrity of our rings. In addition, there may be factors beyond our control (e.g. lockdowns, etc.).
If we confirm that a ring can be resized, please allow for an additional 7-14 days for your order to be shipped. First ring re-sizing is provided free of charge. Please note that, once resized, a ready made ring cannot be returned. Please be sure before you confirm your order.
Please refer to our ring sizing page for more details.
To measure your ring size,
Option 1: Take an existing ring that fits the selected finger, and measure its widest internal diameter (in mm) at the centre
Option 2: Buy one of our plastic ring sizers and use it as a guide

We take extreme care in making our jewellery and perform rigorous quality checks. However, mistakes can happen. If a manufacturing fault occurs, we will cover the repair of the jewellery or offer a replacement piece at no cost to you.
Ceylon Stones will cover repair of jewellery pieces or offer replacement pieces for a manufacturing defect during the twelve month warranty period, starting from the date of purchase.
Please note that we will not cover everyday wear and tear, accidental damage, damage from neglectful use and damage to coloured stones and diamonds.
While the coloured gemstones and diamonds are generally hard, they can be damaged, broken, chipped, cracked or lost if poorly cared for. This is not covered under warranty.
In addition, jewellery metals such as gold, silver, platinum require proper care. Relative to other metals and other objects (e.g. concrete), they are softer and can be scratched or damaged. We do not cover these damages.
A summary of what we do not consider as manufacturing defects is listed below. Please note that this list is not comprehensive, and we will assess on a case by case basis.
1. Accidental damage.
2. General daily wear and tear.
3. Damage from negligent use and incorrect care (please read our section on how to care for our gemstones and jewellery).
4. Broken/bent claws or prongs.
5. Scratches, bending or misshaping.
6. Minor imperfections, asymmetry and misalignment that arise during manufacturing.
7. Broken, damaged, chipped or lost gemstones.
8. Any work including resizes and repairs undertaken by another jeweller.
9. Natural inclusions and imperfections in gemstones
If another jeweller has undertaken a repair or resizing, the 12 month warranty will be voided.
